Sindh Government Approves Health Insurance for Police Personnel

The Sindh government has approved a new health insurance policy for police personnel, providing essential medical coverage for officers and their families. Following the Sindh Cabinet’s decision, the Finance Department is expected to release funds for this initiative shortly.

Key Meeting and Implementation

A meeting at the Central Police Office, chaired by Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, discussed the scheme’s details. During the briefing, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Finance informed participants that health cards would be issued to all police personnel through the selected insurance company. To ensure accurate coverage, the initiative will leverage NADRA’s assistance to verify the family details of the police officers.

Comprehensive Benefits

The new policy offers extensive benefits, including coverage of up to PKR 1 million per annum for each family. This coverage includes inpatient hospitalization and outpatient department (OPD) services. Families will have access to cashless inpatient health services at over 1,000 empaneled private and public hospitals across Pakistan.

Awareness and Training Programs

To ensure a smooth implementation, IG Sindh has directed all district and unit officers to conduct awareness programs. These programs aim to fully inform officers and their families about the policy and its benefits. Training on how to utilize the health insurance benefits will commence immediately.

Commitment to Police Welfare

This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to the welfare of police personnel, who courageously fulfill their duties in maintaining law and order.
