Honor Set to Launch X60 Series with Massive Battery and Satellite communication

Honor is set to unveil its new X60 series smartphones next week, on October 16 (Wednesday). These devices are expected to be higher-end offerings compared to the Honor X60i released in July. The company has been actively teasing features of the new models on Weibo, a popular Chinese social media platform, highlighting some of their standout characteristics.

Impressive Battery Capacity

One of the most significant features of the new series will be the debut of the “Honor Qinghai Lake” battery, boasting an impressive capacity of 6,600mAh. This new battery promises a remarkable two-day battery life, marking a substantial improvement over last year’s Honor X50 trio, which included the Honor X50, X50 GT, and X50 Pro, all equipped with 5,800mAh batteries and 35W charging capabilities. However, Honor has yet to confirm the charging speed for the new series.

Satellite Communication and Speculations on Features

Leaked hands-on photos of the Honor X60 indicate that one of the models will retain a 5,800mAh battery and 35W charging, similar to its predecessor. This suggests that the enhanced 6,600mAh battery may be exclusive to the X60 Pro variant. Additionally, the Honor X60 series will support satellite communication, a feature that enhances its connectivity options. With the launch just days away, more official teasers from Honor are anticipated, likely revealing additional specifications such as the camera system and chipset.

Additional Product Announcements

In addition to the smartphones, other products like the Honor Tablet GT Pro may also be introduced during the announcement event. The company has hinted at several features, including satellite communication support for at least one phone in the X60 series and displays featuring 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

Exciting Prospects Ahead

As the launch approaches, further teasers from Honor are expected, which may shed light on additional details about the devices and possibly unveil a new 12.3” tablet alongside the X60 series on Wednesday.
