A recent intelligence report submitted to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has raised serious corruption allegations against several high-ranking officers within the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), as reported by 24News. The findings shed light on extensive misconduct within the company, prompting swift action from the Prime Minister.
Following the report’s release, Prime Minister Sharif directed the Interior Ministry to begin a thorough investigation into the implicated officials. The Establishment Division has been assigned the role of closely monitoring these individuals to ensure accountability. The investigation targets officials ranging from Grade 18 to Grade 21, detailing accusations of bribery, mismanagement, and malpractice in electricity distribution.
Among those specifically named in the report are LESCO’s General Manager Technical, Amir Yasin, and Chief Engineer Material Management, Ramzan Butt.
