Budget-smartphone seekers in Pakistan have a new option to watch. Honor is reportedly bringing the X5c model to our market, with a launch likely in the first week of November. While it’s very much an entry-level device, it aims to offer more value than many phones at its price. Let’s look at what we know so far about the Honor X5c, and whether it’s worth waiting for.
Entry-Level with Some Smart Choices
The Honor X5c isn’t trying to be a flagship. Instead, it fills the “affordable smartphone that works well” slot. It comes with a good-sized screen—about 6.74 inches—which gives decent display space for videos, social media and casual browsing. What’s more interesting: the panel supports 90Hz refresh rate, which is a nice touch at this price level.
Of course, there are compromises. The screen resolution is HD+ (not full HD), so sharpness will be lower than higher-end rivals. At approx. 260 ppi, fine text may not be ultra-crisp compared to premium phones. But for many budget-level users, the larger screen and smoothness might matter more than ultra-high resolution.
What’s Under the Hood
Honor X5c brings Android 15 with MagicOS 9 on board—good to see a fairly recent software version. On the performance front, it uses the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset alongside a Mali G52 GPU. These are older parts by smartphone industry standards, so performance won’t rival premium phones—but again, this isn’t the goal here.
Memory and storage options for Pakistan haven’t been officially confirmed. International reports hint at 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage as possible choices. That gives some flexibility for users who store more photos, apps or videos. The value will depend strongly on the final local pricing.
Camera & Battery – Simple but Functional
For camera details: one version of the X5c (Latin America) reportedly came with a 50MP rear sensor, but in many regions the model expected in Asia uses a 13MP main camera and a 5MP front-selfie camera. Given Honor’s past releases, it’s likely Pakistan will receive the simpler 13MP option. This means the phone will handle everyday shots fine in daylight, but low-light results and zoom capabilities may be limited.
Battery is a highlight: Honor has packed a 5,260mAh cell. That should be enough for a full day of moderate use—social apps, streaming, calls—especially given the lower-resolution screen and simpler SoC. On the flip side, charging speed is modest: 15W wired charging, so fast top-ups won’t be as rapid as some competitors.
Connectivity & Extras
The Honor X5c includes practical features you don’t always get in the ultra-budget segment. Side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-band WiFi, 3.5mm headphone jack—these add up. The thickness is listed as under 7.9mm, which is respectable for a phone with a large battery. For users who still value wired headphones or good connectivity, this model ticks many basic boxes.
What It Could Cost in Pakistan
While Honor hasn’t officially announced the Pakistani price, judging by global pricing and market conditions, a likely range would be around PKR 34,000 to PKR 40,000. At that price, users can weigh whether the screen size, battery and software version outweigh the compromises in performance and camera.
Is It Worth Waiting For?
If you’re a buyer looking for a very affordable everyday phone—not a gaming beast, not a camera specialist—the Honor X5c makes sense. In Pakistan in early November, it could serve well for students, first-time smartphone users, or those who use their phone for basic tasks and value battery life and screen size more than ultra-high specs.
On the other hand, if you expect strong gaming, top-tier cameras or future-proof performance for many years, you may want to stretch budget a little further and consider next-tier models.
