The Punjab government has officially ended the facility of free vehicle emission testing and has made it mandatory for vehicle owners to pay a fixed service fee. This step has been taken by the Environment Protection Department (EPA) to regulate emissions and control environmental pollution across the province.
According to the formal notification, separate charges have been set for motorcycles, rickshaws, cars, and other vehicles depending on their engine capacity. Vehicle owners are now required to pay the prescribed fee at the time of testing, and all payments must be deposited directly into the EPA account.

- Reduce harmful emissions in urban areas.
- Promote better vehicle maintenance by owners.
- Create accountability through an official EPA payment system.
Final Word
With the new rules in place, all vehicle owners in Punjab must undergo emission testing by paying the specified fees. The enforcement of this policy highlights the government’s commitment to improving air quality and reducing environmental hazards.
