The Punjab government has introduced mobile license vans to make the process of obtaining and renewing driving licenses more convenient for citizens. This initiative, launched under the vision of the Chief Minister, aims to bring licensing services closer to people’s doorsteps.
Facility at Your Doorstep
According to officials, specially designed mobile police stations and licensing vans will now operate across all districts of Punjab. These vans will allow residents to apply for new licenses or renew existing ones without the need to visit traditional offices.
DIG Traffic Muhammad Waqas Nazir highlighted that the vans will also visit women’s colleges and universities, ensuring greater access for female applicants.
Deployment Across Punjab
In the first phase, 33 mobile vans have been deployed. The government plans to gradually expand this number to 118 vans across the province. To improve accessibility for women, seven vans have been reserved exclusively for female applicants and will be painted pink for easy recognition.
Benefits of the Initiative
Authorities believe that this new system will make the licensing process faster and more efficient. By reducing the load on existing licensing centers, citizens will face fewer delays. At the same time, dedicated pink vans for women are expected to encourage greater participation of female drivers in the licensing process.
This innovative step reflects the Punjab government’s efforts to improve public service delivery and ensure convenience for citizens through modern solutions.
