Punjab Government Introduces Major Curriculum Revisions for Classes 9 and 11
The Punjab government has approved significant changes to the curriculum for Class 9 and 11 students, starting from the upcoming academic year. This move marks a major shift in the educational framework, aimed at modernizing and enhancing the quality of education across the province.
As per a notification issued by the Ministry of Education on Sunday, the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementing these revisions. The updated syllabus will affect core subjects such as English, Urdu, Islamiat, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, and Computer Science, ensuring a more comprehensive and contemporary approach to learning.
One of the standout changes is the addition of a dedicated focus on Pakistan’s historical and cultural significance, which will be introduced into the Class 10 curriculum. This update is designed to make the syllabus more relevant to the country’s evolving academic needs and to better reflect regional standards.
To support these changes, the PCTB has been directed to print updated textbooks that align with the revised curriculum. These books will be distributed to schools in a timely manner, ensuring both students and teachers have adequate preparation for the new academic year.
This initiative represents the Punjab government’s ongoing commitment to improving education and equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in today’s world.
