Punjab Launches E-Registration Card Service for Vehicle Owners
LAHORE: In a major step towards digitization, the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department of Punjab has rolled out a new virtual registration card service. This initiative allows vehicle owners to conveniently download an e-registration card for cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles directly to their mobile devices, as reported by ARY News.
This innovative service aims to simplify the process for citizens by eliminating the need to carry physical registration cards, particularly during traffic checks or interactions with law enforcement. Traditionally, failing to present a physical registration card could lead to fines or other penalties.
The department recognized that many people often forget to carry their physical cards. To address this, they have launched an accessible online platform where vehicle owners can quickly download their e-registration cards and have them readily available on their smartphones.
To acquire the e-registration card, users can visit the official website of the Punjab Excise Department at excise.punjab.gov.pk. Once there, they simply need to click on the “E-Registration Card” option and input their vehicle’s registration and chassis numbers. After successful verification, the digital card is available for download and can be saved for easy future access.
This initiative ensures that vehicle registration information is always on hand, making life easier for vehicle owners and streamlining verification procedures for traffic officials across Punjab.
